Date: 21 November 2024, 14:00-17:00 (CET)
Location: Online
In today's increasingly hostile political landscape, the importance of digital security cannot be overstated, especially for antiracist organisations that often face additional challenges, smear campaigns, harassments and threats due to their advocacy work. This online training aims to raise awareness about the critical need for robust digital security measures within these organisations.
Participants will gain insights into the various tools and practices that can help protect their work and people involved, ultimately fostering a safer environment for their advocacy efforts. The primary objective of the webinar is to raise awareness among the membership about the significance of digital security in the context of racial justice activism. With the rise of digital misinformation, targeted harassment, and data breaches, it is imperative for organisations to understand and implement effective security measures and engage in reflection on the digital tools they are using in their day-to-day work.
We will identify and discuss various digital security tools that can be utilized to safeguard organisations. Moreover, the training will encourage participants to reflect on their current (digital) security measures, helping them identify areas for improvement and potential gaps in their strategies.
Rather than aiming to provide one-fits-all solutions, we want to invite the participants to engage in a reflective process and provide critical questions to encourage the membership to consider what digital security measures are currently in place within their organisations, the challenges they face in implementing effective security, and which tools they believe would be most beneficial for them.
